  1. The science behind it isn't perfect yet and it'll change as more people get tests done and they can be more accurate. Knowing you're identical or paternal twins is similar in that they have imperfect information and make their best guess. While doctors have been learning how to tell the difference for a long time, there are still some identical twins that look different enough to be mistaken for paternal and paternal that look alike enough to pass as identical.

  2. Italian nation is very young it's created in 19th century. So when you say I'm Italian the question should be which Italian exactly. Sardinian, Tuscan, Sicilian, Lombardian, Venetian, etc. According to your results you are an Italian, precisely southern Italian. 40% is not small percent

  3. Broadly Southern European will include Italian – it just means they don't have enough Italian samples to say it is Italian 100%. Sicilians also have more Spanish/Iberian ancestry than other Italians.

  4. These ancestry or ethnicity dna tests are selling the modern day equivalent of selling a pet rock or snake oil.

There is nothing in one's dna that links them to where they were born. If there is nothing in your dna that links you to where you were born, then there is nothing in one's ancestors that links them to where they were supposedly from.

Another logical fallacy of these ancestry or ethnicity dna test, is that mental constructs can not be manifest or replicated in one's dna. Anyone beyond the age of two knows that language, culture, ethnicity, religion or life, has to be learned.

Another logical fallacy is that an individual is only made up of a few haplogroups, when the biological reproductive process is a geometric progression of the power of two, which meaning that going back only 20 generations, there were 1,048,576 contributors to one's dna. It is possible to go from specific to general but it is impossible to go from general to specific.

Another logical fallacy is that an haplogroup establishes any link to one's real identity. Because of biological reproductive process, each individual is a uniquely distinct individual where each generation losing access to half of the previous generation's dna, one is only genetically linked to 254 other individuals which only goes back 7 generations.

The biological reproductive process is an evolutionary process moving forward not back, where no one has ever been the same or will ever be the same that can only be linked to one's actual progenitors, not some fictional mental construct.

  5. Both of you are unique beauties and I can tell that you are not identical because I can see the different features between the two of you.

You already knew that you were not identical because you were created in different sacs so there was really no reason to even question that.

  6. Even a person born in Italy–a person whose parents and grandparents all had been born in Italy–would be unlikely to receive a 100% Italian result from 23andMe's ancestry composition test. Rather, most Italians will show some French & German, Iberian, Balkan and/or Middle Eastern genetic inheritance too. And that's because of successive occupations by ethnic groups from said regions, up to and including the struggle for Italian unification in the 1860s.

It's a long way of saying that a 9%-10% Italian result doesn't mean that only that percent of your heritage can be traced to the Italic peninsula and surrounding islands. Your Italian grandmother might have shown as much French & German as Italian, were she able to take the test. The same can be said of your Spanish grandfather.

The results you shared here–40%-45% Southern European–are perfectly in keeping with one Italian and one Spanish grandparent–having married one native of the British Isles and one native of the American continent, respectively. Your genetic test really does match the oral tradition re: your family history.

  7. Yakut in Siberia is prob where your Asian and Native came from. I have that also. It's an indigenous tribe that migrated to Alaska and down into the Americas from Siberia. It's actually one of the coldest places.

  8. TO WATCH WITH THE BEST QUALITY, MAKE SURE YOU WATCH IN 1080!
You can find the button on the bottom right corner, you click the little gear icon and click on quality and choose 1080!!!
BTW MY SISTER KALEY, ON THE LEFT IS WEARING GREEN EYE CONTACTS. We have the same eyecolor!

  9. HaHa- these 2 chicks are too funny. Lefty has different eyes, cheekbones, is shorter, different brow ridges. So, they are 3/4 White and 1/4 Brown-Red. Same as me. Cute video, guys ?

  10. I think your ignoring an important section, and that is the broadly southern european, I think that may include Italian. So, if you were to add that to what your currently have for Italian, you'll be around 28.8%.

  11. Omg you guys are sooo cute, yet scary haha, I’m looking forward to getting my dna results soon, and I’m nervous for them ??

  12. You're identical twins and different coloured eyes? Is one of you wearing contacts? I'm a twin and want my sister to test her DNA to see if we're identical. We were always assumed to be identical but fraternal twins run in my mom's family from her paternal side so that always made me wonder. I suspected identical though before you said because your results were more similar than most siblings I've seen.

  13. Try Ancestry, they don't leave anything unassigned & will show you the regions where your family is from here in the states & Mexico in case your dad is really Mexican. Native American is most likely from your Mexican dad & Iberian is Spain & Portugal….Which the majority of Mexicans are.
