My DNA Results: Who Am I? My Heritage DNA

Prior to taking this test I had no real idea of who I was or how much slavery may have affected my DNA. I was pleasantly surprised by my results and am pleased with the little surprised at the end!
We used MyHeritage DNA – my husband took a test as well.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS VIDEO WAS DONE FOR FUN AND SO WAS THE DNA TEST. I HAVE NO DESIRE TO TAKE ANOTHER TEST FROM ANOTHER COMPANY – I WAS JUST TRYING SOMETHING FOR FUN.
THIS VIDEO IS NOT A HISTORY LESSON OR GEOGRAPHY LESSON, SO PLEASE RERAIN FROM TRYING TO ‘TEACH’ ME – I AM WELL LEARNED AND STILL LEARNING EVERYDAY. THANKS SO MUCH!

  5. Thanks for sharing your results. By the way, "nigeria" as well as the vast majority of modern day African countries are the creation of European imperial powers in the 1880's when they divided Africa like a piece of pie. Nigeria did not exist prior to 1880s and there is no such thing as Nigerian DNA. Nigeria has many diverse ethnic groups including the Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani, etc. In any event, all these ancestry dna companies is a good starting point to research into your genealogy. It would be more important to connect with any genetic cousin matches from the continent of Africa, if you are lucky, to learn your "real" African ancestry.

Nigeria, as you know, was apparently coined while Lord Lugard and his wife were playing cards. Nigerians will roll their eyes if you reduce your identity to a European invention. It's your tribe and ethnic group what counts, since most tribes live in more than one country. Find out,if you can, if you're an igbo or fulani, or Yoruba. Then Nigerians will smile.
