Hello guys! The results were shocking for me because I’ve had no idea that I was Mizrahi Jewish and 1.2% Nigerian! I hope my results can be an indicator that Turkish and Greek Cypriots are not really different from each other both genetically and culturally. At the end of the day, we all are just Cypriots.❤️Comment below and let me know your results if you have done the test please! ☺️
It seems that Cypriot Turks lack the Central Asian/Oghuz admixture that Anatolian Turks have. This shows that Cypriot Turk when they converted to Islam just took on Turkish culture, and thus are not transplants from Anatolia. Another interesting is that Turkish Cypriots at times show minor African admixture, which is very rare with Anatolian Turks. The Mizrahi component is Levantine. I score West Asian but it seems more Cauasian like than anything. Not very strange from Cypriot results
Yahu ne kadar mal insanlar var.. yunanlilar kendileri zaten 50% turk cikar, 54% yunan derken bisey ifade etmiyor ki.. bu yine gavurun kendini yuceltmesinden baska bisey degil
The tests only determine up to 4th cousins, because Turks common ancestry is Mongolian and Turkic and more expensive test kits can determine that.
Similar indeed.
Interesting results Ali! I tryed many companies and the most complete in ancestry to me is 24Genetics https://24genetics.de/ .Hope it helps in case you want to try another one 🙂

These tests are not safe about your ancestors. Just because after 6-8 generation mDNA changes completely. This means your results very limited and contain very close dates when you compare whole historical path.

greek
Greek in Turkish Cypriots might also be due to Albanians (Janissaries). Check some of the Albanians' results. Some are classified as more than 80% Greek. Probably lots of Albanians became Greek or vice versa.

You are not Turkish too.
Ali naptın ya
Kardeş bildiğin Yunansın amk ?
You re a real North Cypriot. Because many turkish moved last years
Your results are typical for a Cypriot. I expected West Asian to be higher though. It seems West Asian is mostly based on Iranians and Turks. By the way i also found your Gedmatch kitnumber, in oracle 4 you come up as 1 50% Sephardic_Jews_Behar +50% Turkish_Dodecad @ 2.954088 which indicates that you have some Anatolian Turkish ancestors. And your East Eurasian heritage varies from 2% to 4%.
I want to add this comment just so everyone can see and share their thoughts on it: I researched this guy's GEDmatch results and it showed he has Levantine origins from thousands of years ago (Levantines like Phoenicians and others that settled on Cyprus, Greek settler ancestry and Turkish settler ancestry. GEDmatch shows he has some Mongoloid admixture, typical for Turks, and says he could be 80-90% Cypriot and 10-20% Tatar, Chuvash and other Turkic ethnic groups. I want to stress that what he scores as 'Greek' on MyHeritage is rather a mixture of Pelasgians and Greeks, so not entirely Greek, but very interesting nonetheless.
Hi Ali, I'd like to clarify your results that make lots of sense. Since you are a Cypriot, it is extremely normal for you to have West Asian/Levantine ancestry. After all, Cyprus had been inhabited and colonized by Levantine peoples, especially Phoenicians from modern-day Lebanon, for thousands of years. What this company calls 'Greek' includes some of this West Asian ancestry as well. That is seen by the fact that Cypriot and Pontic Greeks who upload their raw DNA to GEDmatch see absolutely no genetic relationship to Greeks, but just West Asians. Only a small part of the 'Greek' you scored is actually coming from ancient Greeks, so I advise you to upload your raw DNA to GEDmatch, it is entirely safe and free. I also did it with my dad's DNA file. He is a Turk from Greece and MyHeritage said he has lots of Greek ancestry (61.7%) which is more than many Greeks score, and GEDmatch said the number is even higher. So try to take your results with a grain of salt. Either way, that we are Turks will never change, my dad's bacos do make some jokes about him being Greek though 😛
