It means your an alien….lol….keep trying. Do the saliva test in the morning before you brush your teeth. G'luck

For ancestry.com I failed 3 times and gave up so I tried 23andme and it to also failed to collect my DNA. I don't know what to do anymore. Ugh!

  3. I believe Ancestry does saliva as well. You would probably be better off with FamilyTreeDNA which uses a cotton swab and cheek cells.

  4. Did you ever get your results back from Ancestry? I am anxious to hear because I just received my second FAILED from 23andMe today. To get my money back I had to sign a waiver saying I would not submit another test. I am wondering if trying another service is even worth my time.

Same thing happened to me. Why don’t they use a cotton swab??!! Not sure who to try next.

  6. You might have aids because of the low white blood cells from whom they extract the dna

  7. FamilyTreeDNA.com has the largest data base. Unless they changed, they use the cheek swab method. For a female, I would do the "FamilyFinder" as that will connect you to all your cousins…however, my daughter who was born in China, they did not have anyone similar to compare with. So she has no cousins to connect with. She did learn she was from North and South China and what her Haplogroup was. I would not do a MTDNA as that to me was worthless, people who I matched to did not match with FamilyFinder as cousins. For Men, I would do a YDNA as that will connect you with your correct Surname as children were adopted or took on 2nd marriage father's surname. I would also do the "FamilyFinder." Ancestry.com and FamilyTreeDNA are for those who are trying to fill out their family tree. FTDNA allows you to look at everyones trees you match where ancestry.com wants you to pay for that privilege.

  8. I am not 100% sure but, I think that I may have failed the test as well. They say that they are retesting my saliva. Do you know how long that takes? My husband sent it in at the same time and he got his results over a week ago.

  9. Raquel Lam says:

Same thing happened to my coworker and I. Super frustrating. Both of us sent in our second test and hoping to see some results!

  10. I'm a lab technician. Try giving a saliva sample first thing in the morning before you brush your teeth or drink anything. It will have the most concentrated dna.

  11. Try My heritage DNA kit because they use a cheek swab to collect the DNA sample.

  12. The same thing happened to me. Hope it works with Ancestry.

  13. Failed my first test. Second kit on the way. We may be among those that just don't have a high enough concentration of DNA in our saliva. Nothing you can do about it. Nice to know that a 2nd failed test results in an automatic refund.
